Alicia & Patrick: Notre Dame Basilica & Century Center Wedding
Alicia and Patrick’s Notre Dame Basilica wedding was like stepping into a fairytale. From Alicia’s oversized satin bow, to the incredible architecture of Notre Dame, every detail made this wedding feel like magic was in the air. There are too many beautiful details from this wedding. I don’t know where to start.
Alicia and Patrick are Notre Dame alumni who met while studying architecture. It was their love for their school (and its elaborate buildings) that made them choose to have a Notre Dame Basilica wedding. Did you know that all of the weddings that the Basilica hosts are scheduled on one day? They call it Basilica Monday. All day long the phones ring with brides, grooms, and family members reaching out to book one of the limited time slots for their wedding. Of course, Basilica Monday also happens during exams. So while Alicia and Patrick were busy taking exams, their loved ones called countless times to finally lock in their wedding date. It was worth it! They had the most beautiful ceremony. It was easy to see just how grateful Alicia and Patrick were for their families help.

I can’t begin to tell you just how much fun I had photographing this couple. Alicia and Patrick valued their portraits more than anything. They love Notre Dame and knew they wanted to take their time to get a variety in their photos. We spent an extra hour capturing them with their bridal party all around campus. It. Was. Magical.
Once we finished their portraits it was time to head over to South Bend’s Century Center. I’ve worked with this venue many times and I still get starstruck by the grand ballroom. The twinkle lights hanging from the ceiling create a magical atmosphere. Add in the lights reflecting on the river and nothing can compare to its beauty. What I love the most about this venue is the floor to ceiling windows that let in natural light. While giving a beautiful view of the St Joe river.
